YOUR BACCHANAL 2024 HEADLINER IS…

J.I.D.

Hailing from Atlanta, GA, J.I.D. grew up around soul and funk music, citing Lil Wayne, Wu-Tang Clan, and Jay-Z as his biggest influences.  Since releasing his first mixtape in 2010, J.I.D. has worked with countless musical legends, including J. Cole, Mac Miller, Doja Cat, Dua Lipa, and Killer Mike. The rapper signed to Cole’s famed record label Dreamville Records in 2017 and has climbed the hip-hop ranks ever since, boasting an unreal 31.5 million monthly Spotify listeners. In 2021, he collaborated with Imagine Dragons to compose his most streamed song, “Enemy,” for the Arcane soundtrack. His most recent sensation, though, is the viral hit “Surround Sound” off of his 2022 album The Forever Story, which made the TikTok rounds late last year. The tune samples Aretha Franklin’s “One Step Ahead” and features 21 Savage and Baby Tate; it swiftly gained streams as it grew alongside the “ceiling trend.” Last year, J.I.D. teased the release of his fourth studio album Forever and a Day to come soon. You can catch him on tour supporting 21 Savage this summer and– more importantly– at Bacchanal on April 6th 😎.

If you were tracking the hints released this week on the Bacchanal Instagram, you might have had your suspicions, but here are the official hint explanations:

#1- Roadrunner: JID’s iconic “151 Rum” begins, “Run, Ricky, run, run, n*****, run.”

#2- Lacoste: JID recently released a campaign for the French brand’s new footwear line.

#3- RedBull: The moniker JID is a childhood nickname, short for “jittery,” as someone over-caffeinated on RedBull might be.

Watch Bacchanal’s Instagram reveal video–and study up! Check out “This is JID” on Spotify and “JID Essentials” on Apple Music and get excited to see him rock Low Steps on April 6th.
